Choose a Clash Installer for Your Platform

The same client may offer multiple architectures or file formats. Solid buttons on each card are the usual choice for that platform; other builds are listed as alternatives.

Windows

Windows GUI Clients

Most x64 PCs can use the installer. After the first launch, import a subscription, select the configuration, and enable the system proxy. To route traffic from more applications, configure TUN mode if the client supports it and has the required permissions.

Mihomo Core Download

The Mihomo core is intended for servers, routers, containers, and environments where configuration files are maintained manually. Desktop and mobile users should generally choose a GUI client, which handles subscription imports, system proxy settings, and runtime logs directly.

Windows and macOS

After extracting the core files, run them from a terminal with a specified configuration directory or file. System proxy settings, startup behavior, and log management must be configured manually, so GUI clients are more convenient for everyday desktop use.

Linux Servers

DEB packages are suited to installation through a system package manager; GZ files are intended for manual placement in a chosen directory. For long-running services, systemd can manage service status, startup order, and logs.

Router Devices

Check the CPU architecture and floating-point type in the device's system information first. Router firmware may also impose limits on core versions, storage, and executable permissions, so verify those requirements before downloading.

Before You Install

File Formats, Permissions, and First Launch

Downloading the correct package is only the first step. On first launch, you still need to grant system permissions, import a subscription, and configure the proxy switch.

Confirm the System and Architecture

Windows and common Linux PCs are usually x64 or AMD64; Apple silicon Macs use ARM64; Android devices are mostly ARM64. If the installer reports an unsupported format, verify the architecture instead of repeatedly installing the same file.

Grant Required System Permissions

A system proxy usually does not require full network access. TUN or mobile VPN mode does require system authorization. macOS may ask you to approve a network extension, Android and iOS display VPN configuration requests, and Linux desktops may require administrator privileges.

Import and Select a Configuration

Paste the URL provided by your service provider into the client's configuration or subscription page, update it, and select the configuration saved locally. If you only import it without selecting it, the client usually will not use the new configuration.

Choose a Mode and Connect

Rule mode routes traffic according to the configuration's rules and suits everyday use. Global mode sends more connections through the proxy, while direct mode temporarily disables proxy forwarding. After choosing a mode, enable the system proxy and check the connection in a browser.

Which Clash client should I choose for my first installation?

Clash Plus is a good first choice on desktop and mobile. Windows, macOS, and Linux users can also choose Clash Verge Rev or FlClash based on interface preferences; Android users can choose Clash Meta for Android as well. Most users do not need to download the Mihomo core separately because GUI clients already include the core and management interface needed for everyday use.

What is the difference between the Windows installer and ZIP package?

The EXE installer uses a setup wizard to install program files and create common shortcuts, making it suitable for most Windows users. A ZIP package requires manual extraction and folder management, making it better for portable use or installations that should remain outside the usual location. When both formats contain the same client, the main difference is how installation and updates are handled.

Should I choose the Apple silicon or Intel package for macOS?

Macs with M1, M2, M3, or M4 chips should use the Apple silicon or ARM64 build; older Intel Macs should use x64. Open the Apple menu in the top-left corner and choose About This Mac to check the Chip or Processor field. If the client offers only one universal file, use the download link provided on its card.

How do I choose between ARM64, ARM, and universal builds on Android?

Most recent Android phones and tablets use ARM64, so start with that build. Older 32-bit devices can use ARM. The universal build supports a wider range of architectures and is often larger, but it is useful when the processor type is unknown. If Android reports an incompatibility during installation, try another architecture.

GUI clients provide subscription imports, configuration updates, system proxy settings, TUN controls, proxy group switching, and log viewing, making them suitable for personal computers and mobile devices. What should I do if I still cannot import a subscription after downloading?

First, make sure the subscription URL is complete, contains no extra spaces, and is reachable from the current network. Then check the device time, the client's network permissions, and the subscription service status. After a successful import, update the configuration, select it, and enable the system proxy. If the update returns empty content or an error, troubleshoot the network, URL, and service separately.
